I had heard about this tag and seen this tag going around but Jesse @ Bowties and Books did this tag on their YouTube channel recently and it inspired me to do it now. Check out their video to see their answers to the questions by clicking on their channel name.
My reading habits have changed drastically over the years but this is what they are now.
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I read mainly on the couch downstairs. I also read in my bed and in a hammock on the porch but the couch is the most common place that I read.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
100% bookmark. I have a few lying around but I use the one that came free with purchase when my family went to the Grand Tetons.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I have to stop at the end of a chapter. It bothers me if I stop in the middle of one. If the book doesn’t have chapters, then I stop at a page break.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I don’t usually but I’m not against it. I just never think to do so.
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Sometimes I can’t read unless there is background noise from their music or a tv. Sometimes I can’t read with any noise going on. It depends on the day honestly.
One book at a time or several at once?
I prefer to dedicate my attention to one book at a time but I love buddy reading so much that I have gotten used to reading several at once. I just try to read from different genres so I don’t get confused.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Well I’m not going anywhere right now so I’m doing all my reading at home. During normal times, I still usually read at home.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I read silently in my head. Unless I’m not comprehending what is happening and need to read out loud to figure it out.
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
In physical books, I’ll flip ahead to see how many pages are in a chapter and glimpse what is happening. But I still read the chapter. Side note: please bring back the Table of Contents in books, publishing industry.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I don’t purposefully break the spines of books but I don’t freak out if it breaks while I’m reading it. If I can’t comfortably read it while the spine is intact, then something needs to change.
Do you write in your books?
I write in my eBooks but not in my physical books. It just feels different to me. I think I read too many library books when I was younger and now I treat all physical books like I do library books.
I had forgotten how much I liked doing tags. If you also like doing tags and haven’t done this one yet, then consider yourself tagged. Just let me know to check it out once you’ve done it.
Do you write in your books? Does it matter if it is a physical book or an eBook?
Thanks for reading,
